Ish’s review of the past weekend.
2 months have passed since my last live travelling concert and 2 things happen after such a long gap. The first is my nerves set in, am I still up to, and able to do these concerts?
And the second (even more important) is the thought, if I’m not really needed nowadays, should I still be doing these concerts?
Anyway, Saturday came, along with the torrential rain and tree bending gales of Bert. Not the most pleasant 200 mile plus drive and at one point our car was attacked by a couple of wheelie bins blown across the road and ending up under my front wheel.
Whilst one organiser wondered if I would still come, I wondered if anyone would brave the weather and still come to see me!
Irene and I eventually arrived at the Bible Christian Centre in Haselbury Plucknett. Before you say where? Look at a map of Somerset!
Here we did the ‘rough and steep’ concert to a wonderful large gathering who had also braved the weather and all I can say is that our time there was not just good, it was exceptional.
The response from those listening and prayer at the end was amazing.
Oh, and would you believe it, I also for the first time added in 2 songs from 1981 (Land of hope and glories album) Healing aid and I’m looking up to Jesus which seemed to be much appreciated.
Thank you so much Andrew for inviting us.
Then Sunday morning came and we were blown down to the Storehouse Church in Dorchester. Again, I wondered if any would come to the all age celebration which Mark the leader had told me to me make especially child friendly. Thankfully lots did come but ninety nine percent were not children.
But that didn’t matter as we had the most wonderful time and all those present helped me to turn it into a wonderful praise party.
Lots of refreshing fun and just what they needed, is what some told me afterwards …but along with the fun I can assure you that the Holy Spirit was speaking into people’s lives.
As well as becoming good friends with the leaders Andrew and Mark at these 2 events, we made so many other friends and met such lovely people. This is what makes these visit so worthwhile for Irene and myself, we give…but we always receive as well.
What did I learn over the weekend? Well, God hasn’t told me to hang up my guitar just yet and that both the Ish praise party and rough and steep testimony concert are both very unique and still much needed and appreciated….even if only by a few these days!.
Thank you Lord and Yippee!
Photo’s Saturday then Sunday.
