My Wonderful Walsall Weekend

I knew that my weekend in Walsall would be a significant one.

Having not done any travelling gigs for quite a period of time I was wondering if

a) I would still feel inspired doing one

b) I would still feel relaxed and enjoy doing one

and most important I guess

c) would those who attend hopefully enjoy it and also go away feeling that they had ‘been in the presence of the Lord’ not just the presence of Ishmael!

If after the weekend I felt uneasy about any of these I would seriously consider if doing musical events was still in line with God wanted me to do.

Well, the weekends over and regarding a) and b) I can honestly say that I had the best weekend I’ve had for a long time, and I am rejoicing that I definitely did feel that the Lord was inspiring me as I spoke and sang.

Regarding c) I’ll leave that for Graham to answer. He invited me and is one of the Church leaders.

Saturday.  ‘When the road is rough and steep’ concert

We were excited to receive Ishmael to our church over the last weekend.

We were privileged to hear his story of his fight with cancer as he and Irene shared their ‘When the road is rough and steep’ presentation. It was an incredible journey through suffering and family pain but in it was the golden thread of what simple faith in Jesus can do.

An encouragement for us all to trust in Jesus no matter what the circumstances of life.

Sunday ‘All age praise party celebration’.

Ishmael presented his All Age Service. Our younger ones use many of the Ish children’s songs in Children’s Church and were so excited to meet Ish in the flesh.

The content was varied, fun and was for all who attended both young and old. We all gained something from it.

I would highly recommend inviting Ishmael into your churches. It was a great weekend that gave us all a boost and we learned more about living our lives with Jesus.

Thanks Graham. The photo below is of some lovely children present, and I guess after this wonderful weekend, I will be staying available to visit churches for the foreseeable future!
