Chiddingfold Baptist Church 140-year celebration review part 1
This invite is worth 2 short reviews because so much happened!
As you will be aware although Saturday was not quite as hot as some other days…it was still very hot!
When Tim and I entered the Baptist Church building it seemed even hotter than outside. Fans were set up and thankfully they did help….a little.
Pastor Joao began with a welcome and then his wife Charlotte (who organised this celebration) along with some excellent musicians led us in a short time of worship. The congregation did not need warming up!
Tim and I did 3 sets with 3 songs in each as I have already shared with you and between our sets various church members gave us a brief history of the Church with photo’s which I found very interesting.
Then to finish Chalotte and the church band joined Tim and I to do a fantastic rendition of ‘Father God’.
There was lovely food and drinks before and after and over the years I’ve discovered that Baptist churches do some of the best refreshments.
I loved every minute of it. And by the wonderful reaction from everyone present, so did they.
I sometimes think maybe it’s time to stop doing the live gigs but then yesterday happens which blows that thought into oblivion.
In fact, the invites I’ve attended this year so far are comparable to some of the best gigs I’ve done over the past 55 years…just smaller, more cosy, and not quite as energetic!
So, (thankfully) the Lord is not telling me to stop…just yet.
But there is more…I’ll tell you about that in part 2 later in the week.
