A very different ‘Rough & Steep’ concert for me yesterday in Southampton

I was doing an after-lunch half hour concert / testimony talk to over forty 50–90-year-old folk.

I have to say I met and talked to a lot of lovely people many who were not believers and they were so encouraging.

Although I really enjoyed being with these lovely people and doing what I did, I don’t really see myself as an after-meal ministry person trying to squeeze what I do into. 30 minutes. I really do like at least an hour which gives me more time to relax and allows me more time to interact and get to know those attending and of course allows me  to sing more than 5 songs.

But after saying that, Sallie who heads this monthly ‘get together’ up is a wonderful lady doing a wonderful job and God is blessing her.

The photo of Andy and myself below was taken in about 1973 when we used to regularly visit this Church when my lifelong friend Tony Stone was the pastor.

He’d get us doing some crazy things in the name of evangelism. Here we are dressed up to sing on their Church carnival float which was about to head through the city…I’m guessing the theme was King Arthur…or maybe these were the only costumes available for us!
