Our Suffolk Churches Trip
This weekend Ish was booked to give a praise party in Moreton Hall parish church in Bury St Edmunds. The church and congregation were brilliantly warm and friendly and joined in so well. Here is a photo of the church and the vicar Jonathan who knew Ish from our Spring Harvest days. The church is right in the middle of a huge residential community. It was a great fun afternoon followed by tea and cake. On our travels we try to fit in a visit to a local cathedral where possible. The Parables of Jesus
I so enjoyed teaching Year 4 pupils last week about the miracles and parables of Jesus. Here are some photos of our session. I was so pleased that the children came prepared with some of the stories they had read in advance, and they posed some really interesting and thought provoking questions. We talked about the miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. We have 2 ancient stone carvings in the cathedral dating from the 12th century that depict this miracle. The children were also fascinated that these carvings had been hidden behind the choir stall and not discovered until 1829. It was an interesting discussion to get the…
