CRE in October.
I feel so honoured to have been invited to share in the Steve Legg tribute at the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park in Esher In October.
I also am very excited that I have been invited to share a 25-minute presentation of ‘Our Cancer Journey’ at the same event on Wednesday October 15th 2.30-2.55.
Of course, this will be a very edited version as my ‘When the road is rough and steep’ concert which would usually include songs and last around 60-75 minutes.
However, I promise to pack my 25 minutes with both interesting stories of my cancer journey and also give lots of words of encouragement to any cancer sufferers and carers. As it’s me, of course it will include a bit of humour but most importantly, I will be saying what God has taught me having gone through a very painful, life-threatening time.
I’ve been informed by CRE by opening and returning this link it will entitle you to get a free ticket to the exhibition.

I must also remind you that I would be very happy to come to your Church and give you the full ‘When the road is rough and steep concert’ for just expenses.
Below are a few words on what the concert is all about and some comments from some of the Churches that we have visited.

‘When the road is rough and steep testimony concert
This testimony concert is for adults and works on a Saturday afternoon / early Saturday evening and has been especially well received as an alternative to a Sunday morning service and is suitable for both Christians and seekers.
As well as bringing ‘Our Cancer Journey’ book to life’ I have updated the stories and will also be mentioning my recent stroke. It’s all about what I have learned from going through difficult times.
Understandably there will be some serious bits, but it will not in any way be a ‘heavy/depressing’ time together and I promise some of the stories and songs will provide plenty of smiles. (Can you ever imagine a totally serious Ish event?)
Although I pray it will be a time of encouragement for any who may be suffering from or who have had cancer, I will briefly cover all sorts of other ‘rough and steep’ issues like bereavement, disappointment, depression, and prayer both answered and unanswered.
It will be informal, and I will sing quite a few appropriate songs which enhance our testimony story and also allow our listeners to gently participate in singing with me if they so choose.
This testimony concert is for adults but if on a Sunday I can do a couple of songs for the children before they leave to go to their own meetings. It will last 60-75 minutes but can be adapted.
People’s comments.
‘Although not particularly suitable for children, it was an amazing testimony concert and people of all ages found it hugely helpful. It was so real and honest, and yet uplifting at the same time.’
I just wanted to say that Ish and Irene came and did this seminar at our church and it was a huge blessing to all that came. The evening combined songs, humour, honesty about the struggles we have, and a focus on the glorious hope that Christ brings to us. If you are wondering whether to have this event at your church, I really encourage you to do so, and am sure you will be just as blessed as we were!
Really enjoyed listening to you both. Inspirational, moving, and great fun. What ambassadors for Christ you both are.
I very much enjoyed the seminar. Very moving. I will enjoy reading your book “Our Cancer Journey”
We were privileged to hear his story of his fight with cancer as he and Irene shared their ‘When the road is rough and steep’ presentation. It was an incredible journey through suffering and family pain but in it was the golden thread of what simple faith in Jesus can do.
An encouragement for us all to trust in Jesus no matter what the circumstances of life.
