Last Saturdays ‘When the road is rough and steep’ concert in Peterborough. The Sunday Praise Party review will appear tomorrow.
I am slightly surprised that more Churches have not felt the need to host a ‘When the road is rough and steep’ concert especially with so many suffering and needy people in our congregations these days. It is totally unique, very honest and personal, encouraging testimony concert.
Last Saturday was an amazing time. A good number attended Stanground Baptist Church and we had all ages present which is not surprising as cancer, serious illness, depression and bereavement do not just affect older people. A truly lovely group of people who not only listened intently but also enjoyed the Ish sense of humour and singing along with songs that interspersed the stories. It’s not just about a few of the difficult times I have been through but it’s about what the Lord has taught me having gone through them. The most precious part is when I finished, the number of people who approached me and that they had been encouraged and helped by what I had shared. We really did have a special time together.
I’ve just been sent these by 2 of the Church leaders.

I would absolutely recommend ‘When the road is steep…’ to anyone looking for a no holds barred way to address life’s difficulties, but with plenty of laughs and some classic Ish songs.
Taking us on a journey through times of suffering and illness, Ish deals honestly with the questions, difficulties, and (of course) finds the humour in weird situations. And the glory goes to Jesus.
Book it! You will not be disappointed.

Ishmael shared with us the journey he and Irene have been through over the past years as they have encountered medical issues, all though this time both of them have been able to rely on God’s strength to help them. Now they have the great privilege of being able to share with others their personal experience. This is so refreshing to hear and gives us all great encouragement to keep focused on God through everything that happens in our lifetime.
