If you live near Slough hopefully see you this Saturday.
Get yourself along, it will be great to see you and I’m pretty sure (whatever age you are) you will enjoy it but remember you need to book in advance. my brother Timbo will be accompanying me on bass. Next Saturday 8th July at 6pm, St Paul’s Slough will be hosting a free All-age Praise Party Concert with Ishmael! This will be a great fun interactive FREE concert with lots of audience participation – mostly singing plus a few simple actions where the children and ‘lively’ adults are encouraged to get involved. This concert really is for all ages, from grandparents to toddlers – we’ll have lots of fun as…

Ish’s intro video. Ish tells you a bit about himself and what to expect at a Praise Party.
A large Church asked me to do a very short video introducing both myself and a ‘Praise Party’ to show to their congregation. That got me thinking! Due to many reasons, I have had much less profile and done a lot less travel for many years, so it seems reasonable to assume that many Churches / people nowadays neither know me nor have any idea what an Ish Praise Party is all about. Whilst doing the video I also realised the Praise Parties (like me) have changed shape over the years. Today’s Praise Party could be best described as ‘a great fun, all age, all action, Bible teaching, musical event.’…

Pentecost and Trinity
In the Church calendar we have just celebrated the two important festivals of Pentecost and Trinity. Our cathedral is called the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity and at the high altar there is a famous tapestry celebrating the Trinity. It is made up of seven panels, in the three central panels there is a red equilateral triangle in the background with a bright white sun in the centre representing the Father, a blue Tau cross representing the Son, and orange wing-shaped flames representing the Holy Spirit. On each of the four side panels are symbols of the four Evangelists – Matthew (a winged man), Mark (a winged lion), Luke…

Coronation and Prayer
It was lovely to see two of the bishops I have worked for taking part in King Charles’ coronation. Durham accompanied the King and Hereford accompanied the Queen. Despite the weather it was an amazing day and I felt it was uplifting to see how much spiritual content and beautiful music they managed to incorporate into the service. I pray people’s lives were touched both in Westminster Abbey and those watching from afar through the Archbishop’s sermon, prayers, liturgy and music. The themes of ‘God’s love’ and ‘servanthood’, that were very much communicated throughout the coronation service are also observed today in the Common Worship calendar. We remember the life…

Busy Bank Holiday Weekend
It’s been a busy bank holiday weekend. Praise God – Ish has returned to full health and strength and loves doing what he does best, communicating the Gospel to all ages. And so we had lots of fun and laughter on Saturday at Ish’s concert in Christchurch Sandown on the Isle of Wight. Ish’s passion has always been to teach scripture and on Saturday he gave us all plenty of scripture verses to learn and think about. It was great fun to see all ages join in singing with amazing enthusiasm. The organisers Charlotte and Andrew have been great friends for years and did a brilliant job in arranging the…
